Unzipping

I offer the tutorials freely to you for learning purposes.  I hope you find them useful.  As always, proceed at your own risk.  Read through it first to see if you understand it and always follow them word for word, step by step.  Do not rush or skip any steps.  I am only responsible for 'my' errors. *S*
The tutorials are for personal use only.  Please do not modify, redistribute in any manner, place in any collections on websites or CD's for profit or otherwise, link to, remove, or claim as your own any files from these pages.  If you'd like to refer to any of the tutorials, please just provide a link or email me for permission to use the entire tutorial.  All tutorials and graphics were created by me unless otherwise stated.  It's perfectily ok, and encouraged, to share the link with friends who might find them useful.

**I do not recommend opening zips in this manner from all websites.  I can only speak for 'my' website and files.  These instructions are only for my website as my computer and zipfiles are virus free.  If you use these instructions for other sites......do so at your own risk**

All files on my site have been scanned with Norton Anti-Virus

***This tutorial was written in/for Win98/98SE, but also applies to WinXP.  The boxes in the screenshots below may look a little different but the settings are basically the same.

You will first need an unzipping program.  There are many to choose from.  I use Winzip so the screenshots in this tutorial are from that program.  Download here

There are several free unzip programs available.  Below are links to a few.

The directions below are for unzipping from your email program.  To download/unzip from a website, start with #2.  Your choice will be 'Open.......current location'.  (for IE/OE6, a new screenshot has been added)

1. Click the paperclip on your header bar, this box will pop out. Click on the file.....in this case.....Makeup.zip

2. This box will pop up. Check Open it.....then OK.  (Next screenshot is
the new download box for IE/OE6)

3. The Winzip window will pop up.

4. Click on Extract and the box below pops up. Make sure All Files and Use folder names is marked. In the Extract to: window......type C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Stationery OR in the window Folders/drives: click the + next to each of the above folders......click on the Stationery folder to highlight it. Then click Extract. That's it! Close out all boxes.

For instructions on using the stationery, please see the Using Stationery tutorial.
