Q.  I'm using a "challenge/response" program on my email.  Can I still subscribe to your updates at Yahoogroups?

A.  No........sorry.  These programs are a real pain for list owners.  Please subscribe with a valid email address that doesn't 'challenge' each email sent.

 

Q. Can you change my email address/How do I change my email address?

A. No.  We cannot access your personal profile at Yahoogroups. You must go to the Yahoogroups website to do this. http://groups.yahoo.com/  If you are not a member of Yahoo (do not have a YahooID and/or do not want one) you need to unsubscribe the old address by email and resubscribe by email using the new address.  If you have already changed your ISP, let us know and we will unsub the old address.
Subscribe/Unsubscribe links are at the bottom of this FAQ and in every update notice sent to you.

 

Q. Can you change my mail preferences or subscribe/unsubscribe me?

A. No. We have a very large membership and cannot maintain everyone's account, unless you are having a major problem, then we will be glad to help you. 'How to' subscribe/unsubscribe links will ALWAYS be provided at the bottom of EVERY message sent to you.

 

Q. I'm not a member of Yahoogroups, how do I sign up so that I can change my personal information and email address?

A. Go to http://groups.yahoo.com
  Choose a username and password.  *Write them down*. You will need them to access your account when you return to eGroups.   It is free, you don't have to give them a lot of personal information except age.  You can choose 'other' on some selections.  It is important that you are truthful about your age.  They do not allow anyone under 18 to join lists containing adult content.

 

Q. Can I request the zip, exe, eml or imf files be sent to me?

A. No.  We cannot send individual files.   Links to the new additions are in the update notice.  Click the link and go to the page of your choice.  There you can download the format of your choice.


Q. It says I'm already a member and I've never signed up on the website?

A.  You joined by email.  If you want access to the Yahoo/Yahoogroups website, you need to go to www.yahoo.com and obtain a YahooID.  Click Sign Up and follow the instructions on the screen and make sure to click Save when you are finished. VERY IMPORTANT!!!


Q. Who sees this information?

A. Only the list owner of KaysKreations can see your email address and/or any personal info you fill in.  Our group setting do NOT allow anyone to see your information. We don't want spammers joining and harvesting them.


Q. I have my mail preference on "Special Notice" and I've not received any email?

A. "Special Notices" works the same as "No Mail".  Exception:  If the owner/mods post a message from the Ygroups website and mark it 'Special Notice', you will receive it.   We don't post from the Yahoogroups website, therefore, you won't receive the updates.  


Q. What is the NoMail setting for?

A. "NoMail" is a 'vacation' or 'I'm away for a day or two' setting, but you can still read the messages from the Yahoogroups website (if you have a Yahoo ID).  If you don't want to receive messages for a certain period of time, change to this setting and your mailbox won't fill up with mail.......causing your mail to 'bounce' back to Yahoogroups and placing you in the bounce section.  You can also use this setting to read the messages on the Yahoogroups website.  *See the bottom of this FAQ for using email to change your mail option settings*


Q. I'm a member, but I haven't received mail from my lists for a while?

A. You are probably in the 'Bounce' section or your ISP is blocking Yahoogroups.  If you receive lots of email and are away from your computer for a day or so, your mailbox will fill up and your ISP will return the mail to Yahoogroups.  You will then be transferred to the 'Bounce' section and will receive no mail from Ygroups until you clear your account on the website.  *Most ISP's will increase the size of your mailbox if you call them and request it.  It is also possible your ISP is blocking Ygroups mail.  
*Another hint: uncheck the setting to 'leave copy of message on server'in your internet options.  Your mailbox will fill up twice as fast if you leave this setting checked.

FREE EMAIL:
**Yahoo now has 1mb mailboxes.  [cannot POP to your OE or Incredimail mailbox]
**Gmail has 2+mb mailboxes.  Contact me to request a Gmail invite [not public yet]  POP access if free.


Q. How do I clear my 'Bounce' status and start receiving mail again?

A. Go to http://groups.yahoo.com and sign in. Go to 'My Groups' and you will see a message that your account is bouncing.  Follow the directions to reinstate your account.  


Q. I'm not hearing the music or my stationery does not scroll when I go to use it?

A. 1) You MUST unzip all files to your default stationery folder. C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Stationery and/or you are not pulling up the stationery in the proper way.  If you need help unzipping, using the stationery, installing fonts or any other help, please visit the help page with detailed tutorials to print out. They are printer friendly.

2)  You are using older versions of OE.  In order to view the stationery properly, you must be using at least OE5, preferably OE6.  To download newer versions of IE/OE click the link below

3)  Some of the stationery does not include music or scrolling.

 

 

Q.  Can I get a virus downloading your files or from the email attached sent by InspirationStationery, BackToBasics Stationery or KaysKreations Site Updates?

A.  I will say no, but anything is possible on the net.  No one can say you definitely will not get a virus downloading their files.  All I can say is I run a good Anti-Virus program and update it every day.  I scan all files before uploading to the website and/or sending them in email.  It is important that everyone protect their own computers from viruses with anti-virus software.  Below are some sites that offer software:

**Note**  Some anti-virus program will occasionally throw a 'false virus warning' on certain types of attachments.  Running more than one virus program can cause many problems and give false readings.  

 

Q.  Why do I see boxes with a red x in the instead of the graphics (pictures)?

A.  It could be several things........1) your cache (Temp Internet Files/History) need to be cleaned or 2) you have your security settings too high or set to Restricted Zones instead of Internet Zones.  3) Click 'Refresh' to view the most recent pages if you don't have your browser set to load the newest pages.  4) Your IE/OE files have become corrupted.  5)  Your drivers need to be updated.  There are many reasons, these are just a few of the culprits.   Please visit my Tips & Tricks page for updated info.
