Adding a Background
to Email Message

I offer the tutorials freely to you for learning purposes.  I hope you find them useful.  As always, proceed at your own risk. Read through it first to see if you understand it and always follow them word for word, step by step.  Do not rush or skip any steps.  I am only responsible for 'my' errors. *S*

The tutorials are for personal use only.  Please do not modify, redistribute in any manner, place in any collections on websites or CD's for profit or otherwise, link to, remove, or claim as your own any files from these pages.  If you'd like to refer to any of the tutorials, please just provide a link or email me for permission to use the entire tutorial.  All tutorials and graphics were created by me unless otherwise stated.  It's perfectly ok, and encouraged, to share the link with friends who might find them useful.

This tutorial was written in/for Win98/98SE, but will also work with XP

Open a new message window.  If you have your settings on  plain text, you will need to select Rich Text, then go to Format, Background, Picture.

Click on the browse button.

When this box pops up, click the black triangle (arrow pointing) and find and click on the folder you saved the background tile/picture to.  Click on it and then click Open.

This will bring up the Background Picture box again with the path to your background/picture in the window.  Click OK

You're finished!!  Your New Message should now have the background/picture you chose in the bottom window.  Now, just choose your font, size and color by clicking the little black triangle next to each one, type your message and send.
