AOL changes graphics to their own proprietary format called .art. They are super compressed. That compression can be turned off.

**This only applies to AOL 6.0**

To turn off compression:

1. Hit Alt-S or click on Settings on the Toolbar
2. Click Preferences
3. Click Internet Properties
4. Click Web Graphics
5. Select 'Never Compress Graphics'
6. Click Apply
7. Click O.K.
