Add Fonts to IncrediMail Letter Creator

**Fonts must be installed to your Windows Fonts folder in order to show up in *any* of your programs.
This tutorial is only for adding fonts to Letter Creator.

I offer the tutorials to you for learning purposes.  I hope you find them useful.  As always, proceed at your own risk.  Read through it first to see if you understand it and always follow them word for word, step by step.  Do not rush or skip any steps.  I am only responsible for 'my' errors.  *S*

The tutorials are for personal use only. Please do not modify, redistribute in any manner, place in any collections on websites or CD's for profit or otherwise, link to, remove, or claim as your own any files from these pages. If you'd like to refer to any of the tutorials, please just provide a link or email me for permission to use the entire tutorial. All tutorials and graphics were created by me unless otherwise stated.  It's perfectly ok, and encouraged, to share the link with friends who might find them useful.

***This tutorial was written in/for Win98/98SE, but also applies to WinXP.  The boxes in the screenshots below will look different but the settings are the same.

***New info:  [I have not tried this, but others have and say it works].
1.  Save (move) your fonts.txt file to another folder where it is safe.
2.  Open a new file in your text editor (note pad, etc)
3.  Save the BLANK file to the same folder you found the original fonts.txt file in.  Naming this new one fonts.txt

***First you need to make sure you already have the font(s) installed
on your computer.  For help installing fonts, click HERE

Step 1.  Open IncrediMail, click HELP, click About IncrediMail to see what build you have.  The last 3 digits are the build number.  If you don't have the latest version, you can download it HERE.
**HINT**  If you've added fonts already, make sure you save or copy the fonts.txt file to another folder before upgrading.  It will overwrite this file and you'll have to start all over again adding the fonts to the text file.

Step 2.  To find the exact name of the font you want to add, go to Start/Settings/Control Panel.  Double click on Fonts.  Find the font you want to add, double click on it.  It will open a window like the one shown below.  Write down the exact name of the font next to Typeface name:

Step 3.  Open Notepad (Start/Programs/Accessories/Notepad).  Click the white 'paper' on the far left under File or click on File/Open.  This will bring up the box below.

If your build # is 541 or earlier, navigate to C/Program Files/IncrediMail/Data/Lettercreator/skin.  Double click on fonts and it will open in Notepad.
If your build # is 545 or later, navigate to C/Program Files/IncrediMail/Data.  Double click on fonts

Step 4.  You now have Fonts.txt open in Notepad.  Scroll down to the bottom and type the font name exactly as shown in step 2 (you can also arrange them in alphabetical order if you want to).  After you have added the font(s), click File/Close or Exit.  It will ask you if you want to save changes, answer YES.  That's it......when you use IM the next time, your new fonts will be there.  If they aren't, you probably made a mistake when you typed the name.  You will need to check and make sure it's exactly as you saw in when you were in the fonts folder.  Also, some of the fonts will have bold, italic, etc behind them.  Depending on the font, you can usually leave this off.
